Bespoke Residential

Bespoke Residential often provides the opportunity for an excellent level of innovation and detailed design. Zebra currently have several bespoke residential projects at exciting stages of development which are exceeding client ambitions.

Silverwood, Little Aston

Zebra Architects were approached by a private client to undertake a contemporary design of this stunning luxury property in an exclusive residential location in Sutton Coldfield. Our design was to open up a traditional cellular building form into a modern open plan way of living.

Working closely with the client and the contractor, Zebra were able to provide a design solution of clean lines, unobstructed views and a careful balance of modern living against traditional house. The client was delighted with the end result and Zebra are very proud of it as well.

Avon Court, Bristol

Historically, Avon Court was a merchant’s house in the affluent Clifton suburb of Bristol. The property was subsequently divided into apartments.

Zebra Architects designed a scheme for the property to restore the interior to a single grand dwelling, and create a large extension to the rear. This was a great opportunity for Zebra to design further interventions to the dwelling that will allow for its continued use and enjoyment for future generations.

The creation of a new feature staircase and an open plan kitchen dining space, transformed the property into an excellent, large family home. The high level of specification and stonemasonry detailing ensured the rear extension was in-keeping with the original property.

Dovecote, Worcestershire

A private client required a quality family space, which maximised the incredible countryside views from the property. The solution Zebra designed, involved a minimalist single storey rear family room extension.

The proposal connected directly to the rear of the property, and walled with glass on three sides, formed a bright, sheltered family space. Whilst the oversized roof, naturally shields the room from solar-gain, preventing overheating. The bi-fold doors, which extend the full width of the rear wall, open to create a smooth transition between the property and the landscape.

The new space now provides a hub that gets used by all of the family.

Norton Close, Worcester

Zebra undertook an extensive remodelling and extension of a detached house for a private client in Worcester.

The adaption facilitated key adjustments to the property which seamlessly provided the resident with a greater level of accessibility due to their mobility requirements. The creation of a downstairs garden room, which can alternatively function as a bedroom with en-suite, inconspicuously forms the provision for ground-floor accommodation when required.

The scope of works included an open plan kitchen and social hub which provides a key social family space. Bi-fold doors that lead into the rear garden, and a first floor balcony, create a strong connection between the internal and external private spaces.

Whilst, the new dining room utilises an expanse of skylights to maximise natural light levels.
