Ranging from affordable housing to luxury estates, Zebra has extensive experience in all aspects of residential architecture. With projects nationally from 5 to 150+ units, Zebra provides services from feasibility, planning, technical design, through to project completion. It is Zebra’s determination to provide outstanding homes, and an appealing sense of place within developments, which sets their designs apart.

Primeswell Close, Colwall

In conjunction with Blue Cedar Homes, Fortis and Speller Metcalfe, Zebra Architects worked as part of the construction team to build this mixed use development out.

Situated on the site of a former bottling plant, the project consisted of 13 dwellings of mixed tenure, as well as a retail unit of approximately 1400sqft. The project was completed in the spring of 2016.

Whittington Road, Worcester

Located in Worcester, along Whittington Rd off a private drive, Zebra were involved in the construction of five luxury 4 and 5 bed detached dwellings.

Working alongside Piper Homes, these 2 and 3 storey houses were completed in the summer of 2016. The homes were designed with open plan living spaces and incorporate a high specification throughout.

Carmarthen Road, Cross Hands

In collaboration with Haywood Homes, Zebra Architects created a residential scheme within the village of Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire. Situated adjacent to a disused railway which has been converted into a picturesque public amenity space, Zebras proposal was for 37 new dwellings on a 2.8 acre site.

A visually stimulating street scene was formed through the orientation and design, with corner properties featuring double frontages. A planting strategy was also implemented to create a sense of place within the development. The elevation treatments respond to the surrounding area with rendered facades, quoining, corbelling, and brickwork features.

Pickersleigh Grove, Malvern

Zebra were commissioned by Fortis Living to design a cross subsidy funded, mixed tenure residential scheme on an existing site of poor quality housing stock.

With the backdrop of a complicated set of constraints, Zebra liaised with a wider team of consultants, MADE and the Malvern Hills DC planning department to achieve an outline approval for 92 dwellings.

Coopers Court, Compton Road, Wolverhampton

A vacant site situated on a main feeder route into Wolverhampton presented an excellent opportunity for residential development. Zebra Architects created a scheme for 15 one and two bedroom luxury apartments.

The new-build development integrated traditional features, finishes and a scale respectful to the prominent architectural character of the local area.

The continuation of the existing terrace was a key design consideration, and convincingly benefited the final appearance.

Atlas Metals, Smethwick

Zebra Architects successfully gained full planning approval on an 11 acre former scrap metal site, adjacent to the planned Smethwick ‘super hospital’ site, and the Windmill Eye redevelopment area. The approval was for 182 dwellings of various types, enjoying a range of character areas, each pulling on influences from Smethwick’s industrial past.

Working closely with urban designers to help form good pedestrian and vehicular links with development plans for the wider area, the approved scheme formed a part of the wider redevelopment of the Smethwick area.

The proposals were also scrutinised by a MADE review panel as part of the process, leading to an approved scheme that the client was delighted with.

Morjon Drive, Birmingham

Zebra Architects designed a twelve unit scheme in association with AMR Developments International Ltd. The development consisted of two detached and ten semi-detached properties, in a residential suburb of Great Barr. The mix of properties ranges from 3 to 5 bedrooms, providing a variety of family accommodation options.

The varied property character types of the area were an important design consideration, therefore the development employs a vibrant mix of architectural features and styles.

City Point, Derby

Zebra Architects were commissioned to design a scheme of 37 apartments, located adjacent to the Pride Parkway. The excellent links to Derby City Centre, less than two miles away, makes the development especially targeted at first time buyers and young professionals.

The quality two bedroom apartments, have Juliet balconies and secure allocated parking. The upper level corner properties benefit from a large expanse of glazing with views across the River Derwent.
