In the push towards net zero targets, the government launched the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). This scheme has encouraged green investment aligning with the Government’s Net Zero and clean growth goals. The scheme provides funding for heat decarbonisation and energy efficiency for exciting building. Zebra has been instructed in the detailing design and implementation phase of decarbonisation process for many local councils’ buildings specifically schools across London with aims to contribute to the renewable energy for the building’s power demand.
Working in partnership with Asset Plus we were able to optimise the strategies, while respecting the building context and history. The projects were a collaborative process with various stakeholders; contactors, school board, planners and local council; playing vital roles in implementing the most efficient strategies that in line with planning, national and local building policies. The strategies are unique to each site as they require unique solutions, but also having to accommodate for the building requirements such as Grade II Heritage Status to conservation area, noise limitation and emphases on mitigating the visual impact of the decarbonation strategies on the building and its context.
